Recently we upgraded our living room furniture and decor from 32-year-old couches, a cheap indoor/outdoor rug, and an Ikea TV stand. While this was a long time coming, we were also glad we got out the puppy stage on the older furniture and didn’t have to worry about accidents or chewing.
I was very adamant that everything had to be dog friendly: stain repellant fabrics, washable pillow covers, couch that is low enough to the ground where toys can’t roll under, and an easy-to-clean rug. Finding the perfect sectional that was comfortable, will hold its shape over time, stain resistant, and the perfect depth was tough! But we finally found one and we LOVE it.
We then decided on this gorgeous TV console. It has absolutely pulled together the space and was worth the investment. Such a heavy peace of furniture and looks even nicer in person!
Next was deciding on the coffee table. I wanted a round shape that would offset the boxy sectional. Round coffee tables are hard to find, but this one is perfect and the wood tone complements the space well. From there, I picked out other décor slowly while we waited for everything to be delivered.
My biggest piece of advice when decorating is to buy something if you like it. You can’t make a final decision until you bring it home and see it in your space. Things sell out quickly, but returns are usually easy!
